Keep up with your lessons to avoid getting temporary zeros. You can refer to the Pacing Guide (located on the Class Overview page) to see what lessons you should be on.

Read your webmail daily! You don't want to miss important announcements about help sessions, test corrections, or LiveLesson.

Attend LiveLessons! If you miss a LiveLesson you are expected to watch the recording before booking a 1-1 appointment.

Use the Help Videos and other lesson resources provided to you while working on the Quick Checks, Quizzes, and reviewing for Tests.

If you are unhappy with your grade or assignment score let me know! I am happy to work with you 1-1 at INO, Office Hours, or by appointment.

Materials

Materials

All students will need a notebook for this class.  It is very important to write examples and practice problems down as you go!

You can use the free calculator at desmos.com or if you prefer to use a handheld calculator, please make sure it has graphing capabilities.  The graphing calculator at desmos.com is what I will be using in lessons.  It is also what you will have available to use for state testing at the end of the year.

Grading

Quick Checks

Quick Checks are common assessments that occur after most lessons.  They typically range from 3 - 5 questions and are specific to their lesson content.  Please refer to your gradebook to see what weight is given to Quick Checks.

Quick Checks are an important tool to use as a gateway ticket before moving on to the next lesson.  If you do poorly on a quick check it indicates that you need to return to the lesson to review content, watch a livelesson recording, or reach out for 1-1 help.  It is much easier to fix small errors for each lesson instead of compiling them until before a unit test.  Plus, you will find the next lesson much easier after you master the previous lesson.

Quick Check corrections are available for full credit and are completed using Formative.

Sample Work

Sample Work is an assessment typically at the end of the unit where the student is expected to show examples of their work.

For this course, sample work will be the collection of notes that the student has taken throughout the unit.  I suggest these notes be formal: showing definitions, theorems, and example problems.  Informal notes are accepted as well: simple work from practice problems.

Quizzes and Tests

On tests you can use a blank paper, pen or pencil, and calculator.

You may also use your personal notes but no other outside resources.  Internet searches during a quiz and test are not allowed and considered cheating.

If you are unhappy with your score - please make corrections!
